Fox has a site the profiling 5 of the particpants in the race on Drive. The site gives the reason why three of the five have entered the race. The profiles for the remaining two, John and Violet Trimble (The father daughter team) have been classified. Kinda curious. Check out Reason2drive.com

From Ugly betty to King of the Road

What is Drive about you ask? It’s the story of a diverse group of people competing in an illegal street race all across the country for the grand prize of $32 million. Drive also stars Nathan Fillion from the Firefly series and Taryn Manning from Hustle & Flow.

Fox Peels Out with Drive

Fox has taken the serial drama to the next level with it’s latest show, Drive. Starring Nathan Fillion of Firefly fame, Drive is as fast paced as it’s name implies.
Fox launched Drive with a 2 hour premiere, showing two episodes back to back. These two episodes, The Starting Line and Partners do an excellent job laying out the central theme and main characters for us. The concept behind Drive is a little like Cannonball Run meets X-files. Three of the main characters (Fillion, Lynskey and Alejandro) have all been drafted into an illegal, secret, cross country race. Fillions wife is kidnapped, Lynskey’s son is kidnapped and Alejandro is released early from prison. Others seem to have joined voluntarily, but the three draftees seem to be the most interesting characters thus far. The organization that runs the race, has been doing it for quite some time and have gone to great lengths to maintain their secrecy. This is one of the cornerstones of the plot, in that the organization seems to everywhere and anyone you run into may work for them. Read more
